LHS Masquerade Ball Information
Miranda Edmonds, Class of 2012 Faculty Sponsor
Taylor Lamb, President   Derreck Pierce, Vice President     Amber Rassatt, Secretary
PLEASE NOTE:  ALL GUESTS TO THE MASQUERADE BALL MUST PRESENT A PHOTO ID (SCHOOL ID, DRIVER’S LICENSE, DRIVER’S PERMIT, ETC) IN ORDER TO BE ADMITTED TO THE EVENT.  GUESTS WITHOUT AN ID WILL BE DENIED ENTRANCE TO THE PROM.
NO ONE WILL RECEIVE TICKETS PRIOR TO THE PROM.  STUDENTS WILL NEED TO “CHECK-IN” PRIOR TO THE PROM TO RECEIVE THEIR TICKET.
Tickets will go on sale in the school store on Monday, March 28, 2011.  The ticket price is $40.00 per student.  Seniors receive FREE admission.
Procedures for getting tickets:
SENIORS:  Congratulations!  You are a Senior so you do not have to do anything prior to the Prom to receive a ticket.  I have heard rumors that many Seniors who are not planning to attend the Prom want to sell their COMPLEMENTARY ticket to a friend for a discounted price.  You rascal!  In order to prevent the sale of FREE Senior tickets to other prom goers, the following protocol will be in place:
1.    Seniors will not receive tickets prior to the Prom.  Upon arrival, Seniors must report to the Senior Check-In table located in the new gym lobby.
2.    A teacher will ask for your Photo ID and then verify that you are on the Senior roster.
3.    You will then be given a wristband (ticket) for admission to the Prom.
JUNIORS:
1.    Visit the school store to purchase your ticket (remember, you will not receive your ticket at this time).
2.    Fill out a short form with your name and VIP.  Your name will be added to the Prom guest list.
3.    If you are purchasing a ticket for your Junior date, please fill out their name and VIP as well.
4.    On the date of the Prom, check-in at the Junior table (remember your photo ID).
5.    You will then be given a wristband (ticket) for admission to the Prom.
SENIORS/JUNIORS THAT HAVE A DATE WHO IS A FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORE AT LHS:
1.    If your date is a 9th or 10th grader at LHS, their Junior or Senior date must purchase the ticket.
2.    When purchasing the ticket, you must fill out a form giving information about your date’s name and grade level.  This measure is in place so that uninvited underclassmen do not “crash” your prom.
3.    Your 9th/10th grade date’s name will be added to the Prom guest list.
4.    On the day of the Prom, your date will need to check in at the check-in table for underclassmen (remember to bring a photo ID).
5.    Your date will then be given a wristband (ticket) for admission to the Prom.

SENIORS/JUNIORS WHO HAVE A DATE THAT DOES NOT ATTEND LOWNDES HIGH SCHOOL:

1.    NOTE:  Prom dates must be at least 14 and no older than 21.
2.    If your date does not attend LHS, their Junior or Senior date must purchase their ticket.
3.    When purchasing the ticket, you must fill out a form giving information about your date’s name, age, phone number, school attended, etc.
4.    The non-LHS student guest will be added to the Prom guest list.
5.    On the day of the Prom, your date will need to check-in at the table for non-LHS students.  (Remember, they must have a photo ID).
6.    Your date will then be given a wristband (ticket) for admission to the Prom.

Apparently, there's a prom at Lowndes High School...

Hide yo' wife, hide yo' kids, cos we are about to make it rain up in hurrr.

Welcome to the official Lowndes High School 2011 Prom Blog (as if there would be any other blog for the LHS prom!).  The Prom will be held on Saturday, April 16 in the LHS Gym.  Right now, me and my Class of 2012 minions are hard at work preparing for what will be the best prom ever (because MRS. EDMONDS is planning the prom -- which of course, insinuates that anyone else would do a lame job).  No offense Mrs. Hoff -- but Class of 2011's prom will be UPSTAGED, SON!

We would like to officially announce that this year's prom theme will be a MASQUERADE BALL.
Prom themes can be fairly cheesy but this is the most tolerable one that I could find (plus, it's TOTALLY classy).  I've thumbed through a lot of prom catalogs.  You should see the obnoxious stuff I've had to look at over the past several months.

These are some important dates to consider (and all dates are tentative at this point--except for the date of the Prom):

March 17 -Invitations will be delivered to Senior VIPs.
March 28 - Tickets will go on sale at the school store.  Tickets will be $35.00-$40.00.  Seniors will receive a free ticket (as always) but your date has gotta pay (because my caterer ain't free, ya heard?).
April 16 - Get your hair and nails did, ladies. We're going to the prom.

This year we will have two photo booths with unlimited pictures for each guest in addition to a free 5 X 7 for you and the entire goon squad you roll up to the dance with.  There will be free video downloads of the dance that will be provided via a website (more info to come).  We will also have a professional caterer and I have hired Lloyd Carter and the most massive DJ set up you have ever seen in your life (because in these dark and gloomy economic times, I'm all about making it rain at Lowndes High School).  We may not have soap and paper towels in the bathrooms, but we will have a chocolate fountain at the prom.  Oh yes.

I'll be updating this blog regularly with prom updates and pictures of the mayhem that is to come.  You can actually watch my mental health implode right before your very eyes!
